North Coast Stormwater Coalition Non-Point Source Pollution Prevention Program

Location: Municipalities throughout Humboldt County, including the City of Arcata, City of Eureka, City of Fortuna, and communities of McKinleyville and Shelter Cove.

Funding Organizations: CA State Water Resources Control Board

Cooperating Agencies: City of Arcata, City of Eureka, City of Fortuna, County of Humboldt, and North Coast Stormwater Coalition members and supporters

The primary goal of the North Coast Stormwater Coalition's Non-Point Source Pollution Prevetion Program is to reduce stormwater pollution in local streams, rivers, Humboldt Bay and the ocean through public education and outreach, coordinating pollution prevention efforts and implementing pollution control measures. A pilot program has been initiated to reduce illicit discharges, which includes outreach and education components for local residents and business owners.
